Housing for people with disabilities are difficult to find in our community. It’s one of the gaps in affordable housing that, as a community, we need to address. As part of the effort to close the gap we are proud to be a part if of the team assembled by Sheltering tree to build a 48-unit project in Papillion that will house adults with disabilities. Sheltering Tree, Inc, is an organization that is tackling the urgent need for affordable housing for adults with developmental disabilities,
The property for the Papillion Sheltering Tree Apartments is located near the “town center” where access to grocery stores, employment opportunities, and entertainment are within walking distance. This is an important consideration as many adults with DD are not able to drive.
George Achola and Andria Bell took part in today’s groundbreaking for the Papillion project. They along with other members of the Real Estate team helped Sheltering Tree with getting affordable housing tax credits for the project. This project is another example of Burlington Capital’s goal to be a part of projects that create optimal results, and maintain exceptional sustainable environments for the communities we serve.
