Thanks to the efforts of the Nebraska Paralegal Association, Burlington Capital’s Andria Bell recently traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska, to participate in a proclamation ceremony recognizing National Paralegal Day and celebrating the important contributions of paralegals across the state.
National Paralegal Day provides an opportunity to recognize the professionals who play an important role in supporting attorneys, clients, and the legal profession. Through their knowledge, dedication, and professionalism, paralegals help keep legal practices moving forward and contribute to the delivery of quality legal services.
During the ceremony, Andria shared remarks highlighting the history and significance of National Paralegal Day:
“The United States Congress commemorated August 6, 2024, as the first National Paralegal Day.
August 6th was chosen because on this day in 1968, the American Bar Association, realizing the vital role paralegals play, established a committee which is now known as the ABA Standing Committee on Paralegals. This committee promotes policies for paralegal training, education, and work.
It is an extreme honor for all paralegals in Nebraska that our governor has issued a proclamation declaring August 6th National Paralegal Day in Nebraska.”
The proclamation recognizes the dedication of paralegals throughout Nebraska and the important role they play within the state’s legal community. It also reflects the continued growth and professional development of the paralegal field.
