Michael B. Yanney founded Burlington Capital, formerly America First Companies, in 1984 and currently serves as Chairman Emeritus. With over 63 years of business and investment experience, Mr. Yanney played an integral role in expanding Burlington Capital’s real estate division to include the ownership, operations, financing and development totaling over $4 billion through the sponsorship of 15 public and 3 private real estate funds. The company’s portfolio has included 360 properties with 68,000 units in 40 states.

From 1977 until the organization of America First in 1984, Mr. Yanney was principally engaged in the ownership and management of commercial banks. From 1961 to 1977, Mr. Yanney was employed by Omaha National Bank and Omaha National Corporation (now part of US Bank), where he held various positions, including Executive Vice President and Treasurer of the holding company and was a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of FirsTier Financial, Inc. Mr. Yanney was formerly a director of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, Level 3 Communications, Inc., Freddie Mac Advisory Board, Tetrad Holding Corporation, Durham Resources, Inc., Freedom Communications, Inc., Forest Oil Corporation, MFS Communications, Inc., PKS Information Services, Inc., Omaha Steaks, Telecom Technologies, Inc., and America First Apartment Investors. Mr. Yanney is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Wisconsin University School of Banking. Mr. Yanney has been married to Dr. Gail Walling Yanney, a retired physician, for 60 years.
